Dear Green Places: Nature and Our Health
In 2026, Helen was commissioned by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow to contribute to their exhibition, Dear Green Places: Nature and Our Health. The exhibition showcased the college's rich archival and book collections to explore how we have been harnessing the power of nature for millennia. Helen helped create the backdrop imagery for the exhibition and its promotional materials, making leaf prints using wildflowers and plants found around Glasgow.
Old Scottish Herbal Remedies book
In addition to the exhibition backdrop, Helen also created a small publication as part of the exhibition called Old Scottish Herbal Remedies. The book highlighted excerpts from a special hand-written notebook of herbal remedies from the 18th century, found within the college's collection. Helen created bespoke watercolour paintings and lettering, and designed the book in its entirety.
Interactive Trellis
The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow was also keen to have an interactive trellis for visitors to contribute to within the exhibition. For this, Helen created hand-made paper flowers and plants to form an inviting frame for visitors to add their own designs to.
