COMAR: Scotland’s Water Futures

In October 2026, Helen took part in COMAR: Scotland’s Water Futures, a fringe event held at the University of Strathclyde by Commonscape Studio in response to the International Water Association World Water Congress, which was taking place in Glasgow.

At the beginning of the conference, Helen spoke about her practice and her experience working with children, with a particular focus on ways to enhance children’s connection with the natural world and Scotland’s waters through creativity.

Sixteen speakers followed throughout the day, covering everything from national policy, sewage and rivers to the arts and community saunas. During this time, Helen was invited to respond creatively to the discussions by painting live in the event room.
